The orientation of Google Maps is always the same when you're browsing on a computer. North is on the top of the map, and south is on the bottom. The left will always be west, and the right is always east. Anything directly above the location you're browsing is always to the location's north.
Use the SHIFT key + the left and right arrow keys to rotate your view. Use the SHIFT key + the up and down arrow keys to move you forward or backwards.
To fix this, enable the auto-rotate feature on your phone. On Android, swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Quick Settings panel and tap the Auto rotate option.
Step 1: Open the Google Maps app and tap 'Profile'. Then select 'Settings'> 'Location Sharing'. Step 2: Select a profile picture to start tracking.
